Open Days

We usually open the second Sunday afternoon of each month throughout the year and every morning, except Saturday, during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Other events such as Doors Open are shown below if available.
No booking required. Entrance is free but we appreciate donations. Our trained guides offer tours, answer questions and manage the sales desk.

Private Tours

We are very happy to provide volunteer guides for a private tour, however, this is a busy working building and visits depend on availability of both the building and guides. We usually require at least a week’s notice to set up visits.

The charge is £5.00 per head to be paid on the day.

There is no charge for school groups or for undergraduates from the Edinburgh Universities.
The building is accessible and has accessible toilets. We have portable ‘museum stools’ which are easily carried.
