The Friends of Mansfield Traquair Centre
We are a voluntary organisation providing trained guides who are committed to showing you the wonderful murals which Phoebe Anna Traquair painted in the 1890s.
Known as ‘Edinburgh’s Sistine Chapel‘, the Mansfield Traquair Centre is a former Catholic Apostolic Church designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson. However, the outstanding feature is the scheme of mural decorations.
Our dedicated volunteers are on duty on Open Days, offer tours to visitors, answer questions and manage the sales desk.
Volunteers are most welcome to guide or assist at our Open Days and help us with the ongoing maintenance of the building and the murals.
It will soon be The Fringe and our friendly guides are ready and enthusiastic to share the wonderful murals by Phoebe Anna Traquair with our visitors.
See our Visit page for details of our opening days and times – tickets are not required and entry is free = donations are always welcome!
